Sisters Place held its first ever Volunteer Recognition Dinner on April 22, 2010, at the Morning Star Baptist Church, in Clairton, Pennsylvania. At the event the Board of Directors and staff members of Sisters Place presented certificates of service to thirty-five generous and dedicated volunteers. Honored volunteers assisted the organization by mentoring children, helping with the after-school program, helping at summer camp, collecting goods for the families, preparing mailings, maintaining the website, and a host of other activities.

One might well say that our very first volunteers were members of the Tri-Diocesan Leadership Conference (TDSLC), which founded Sisters Place 17 years ago (1993) as an outgrowth of their interest in serving the poor in our community.

All in attendance celebrated the women who prepared a superlative repast . . .
